Bull Hornburg

I’m not fighting or riding the bull, I am the bull. 

The Bull Hornburg hat is made with velvety peachbloom velour in antique-gold, stiffened with a slight flexibility. The shape is based on the classic homburg, with an upturned brim. 

Trimmed with petersham and a plait of recycled cotton, rayon & seaweed yarn. The antique gold ribbon is dated 18th century, repurposed from a church pulpit. Details include an embroidered triangle of neon yellow cotton on the crown and a strip of gold rayon on the brim edge. The bull horns are made with rayon wrapped wire and sinamay. 

The Bull Hornburg hat is created using traditional hand-blocking and millinery techniques, along with contemporary and unique touches. 

All my hats are lined with bamboo silk. This choice is not only ethical and sustainable, but also the softest and kindest fabric to sit against your hair and skin. It is anti-static and naturally antibacterial. 

This piece will be handcrafted in my London studio using the finest locally-sourced materials. 

It is made-to-order so will take around 2-3 weeks to finish. Other colours, alterations and fabric preferences can be fulfilled upon request.
